The Abject Failure Of The Obama Presidency

Obama’s failure as president may actually be his goal for victory in converting America to socialism.

Property is the fruit of labor; property is desirable; is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence, is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.  Abraham Lincoln, 1864

In 1942, William J. H. Boetcker, a Presbyterian minister, released a pamphlet entitled “Lincoln On Limitations”. This small publication included the above quote by Lincoln, but also included 10 well-thought-out statements written by Boetcker himself. Though these 10 statements have been incorrectly attributed to Lincoln by statesmen (including President Ronald Reagan), Boetcker’s proclaimations have become important guidelines in defining democracy …and how to maintain it.

Now these words take on perhaps an even more important meaning, for they describe in clear terms, exactly how Barack Obama is systematically destroying all that Americans have worked hard to achieve – and died to protect for over 200 years.

It could not be more clear:

1. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
2. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong
3. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
4. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
5. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence.
6. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
7. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
8. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
9. You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
10 You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they will not do for themselves.

While the sentiments expressed may appear to be obvious, it’s clear that some people, including many of those in our government, just don’t get it.

But virtually every move the Obama administration has made since taking office counters the overarching philosophy of these 10 tenets.  He’s attempting to bring kick-start prosperity by taking the nation into more and more debt; he is weakening strong companies and families by burdening them with more taxes, punitive tarriffs, and regulations; by continuing and expanding the entitlement culture, he is stealing people’s initiative and independence; he is doing nothing to encourage people to save money and live within their means; and he is demanding that the government do for people what they will not do for themselves.

I don’t know how long America can stand against an onslaught from within.

Gerry Ashley

Note: In the days and weeks to come, we’ll be examining each of these principles in greater depth. If you have any thoughts or examples of how the government is working against these principles, let us know and we’ll include them.

Your 10 cliches are catchy but have no meaning. Where the hell did you get them? How long did you take out of your day to put this meaningless garbage together? What is gonna happen in 6 years when the country basically is the same, we’re not socialist, and everything’s fine?

The hypocricy is amazing. Did you know the Department of Homeland Security is still a bigger beauracracy than the new health care infrasructure? Where is the outrage there? I’m pretty sure Bush passed TARP, not Obama. How come all of a sudden we’re going socialist? This is truly amazing. Where is the intellectually honesty and integrity.

It’s not that I disagree with you, it’s that you can’t be honest. I voted for Bush in 2000. I was wrong. He put us in a very bad position. Obama has quite a mess to clean up. In case you forgot that, over 100 people have been killed in the last 2 days in Bahgdad in suicide attacks. Why doesn’t that outrage you?

It’s too bad you didn’t actually take the time to read Gerry’s post. Had you done that, you would have discovered where he found those 10 points and what their history is.

If you’d like to cite some references that support your claim about Homeland Security, I’m sure we’d all be glad to see them, but it really doesn’t make any difference to Gerry’s point. Also, we’re not talking about the Iraq War here. What does or does not outrage any of us about that is off topic on this post.

Sure you voted for Bush in 2000. Back to your bridge, troll!

    • the other Ken says:

In case you have forgotten Mr. ObamaSycophant, Bush left Obama with a mostly peaceful democratic country in Iraq. You might note that this condition is a vast improvement over how he found it (unless you happen to be a Baathist.)

But your whiney post reminds me of something, when Bush was president the kind of violence that you reference would have gotten big headlines at the various progressive web sites. So I wondered if this most recent spate of violence had the same impact.

I went to the some of the usual moonbat sites: NoMoreMrNiceBlog, Balloon Juice, DU, Moveon.org, and Think Progress. What do you suppose I found? That’s right, nothing about Iraq. Apparently they’re far more concerned with the vast threats posed by Tea Partiers that anything going on in Iraq.

It makes you wonder, were they really all that concerned with the people of Iraq or do you suppose that they just viewed it as just more ammunition to disparage the war and the Bush administration? I’ll leave it to your alleged mind to work that out.

Gotta go now, after that last little nasty web cruise I’m in dire need of a shower.

      Mr or Ms Obamanite,

As Stoutcat has observed, it’s obvious you didn’t really READ the article or you wouldn’t have had to ask the question about the origin of the tenets.

That said, let me respond to some of your new (but no less inane) comments.

You write: “What is gonna happen in 6 years when the country basically is the same, we’re not socialist, and everything’s fine?”

Dream on, my friend. In 6 years, we will be lucky to still be here at all. Every legitimate VERIFIABLE indicator of our economy shows us to be headed down the road to economic Armageddon. Healthcare alone will drive the vast majority of small buinesses – the backbone of America’s economy – out of business. The economic tsunami will take our society down with it.

You whine about how Bush left Obama with a $600 billion deficit, but that was after 8 years. and in only ONE year, Obama has pushed it well over a trillion.

In light of the above, let ME turn your next question 180 degrees around and send it back to you: Where is YOUR intellectual honesty and integrity? Ahhh… I
KNEW there was something significant missing from your reply.
