Obama Knew

October 24, 2012

Reuters, AP, the Daily Caller, heck everyone is reporting this morning that both the State Department and the White House were informed within two hours of the attack on the Benghazi consulate that Ansar al-Sharia, a militant Islamic group in Libya, had claimed responsibility for the invasion of the compound and the assassination of four Americans there, including our Ambassador.

If I was angry before, I am beyond outraged right now.

The President of the United States watched in real time as our consulate was being attacked. He watched and did nothing. He could have sent jets, he could have called in the Marines… They may have arrived too late, but it would have been something.

He knew, but He. Did. Nothing.

And he had no response to the American people at that time. In fact, apparently watching our consulate burn was so exhausting, he went to bed — either just before or just after being informed that it was a terrorist attack by a known Islamic group. And this act of war weighed so heavily on his mind that, the very next day, President Obama flew from Washington DC to Las Vegas for a fundraiser.

In other words: He knew but He. Did. Nothing.

And then our president has the gall, the temerity, the audacity to send his minions arount to lie to the press, to lie to the American people, knowing what he knew within two hours of the attack.

I am so far beyond outraged right now that words are failing me. The only ones that keep coming out are very bad, non-family-friendly words that I won’t include in this blog.

President Nixon resigned from office. President Clinton was impeached. Neither of the scandals which imbroiled them had an actual body count. This man, this selfish, callous, cowardly man we chose as President, must not be re-elected. He has only contempt for the nation we entrusted to him.

If he were a man, he’d already have resigned. But he’s not a man, he’s a cowardly, skulking, self-centered, me-first-me-only America-hating, liberal socialist narcissist, so we’re going to have to vote him out.

Two weeks, folks. Two short weeks. Let’s roll.

Michael Bloomberg: Anatomy Of A Coward

August 25, 2011

Remember when we used to hear horror stories about how organized prayer was banned at public events held in communist countries like the former Soviet Union?

Well, welcome to 21st Century Amerika, comerades, courtesy of NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg!

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg

It should bring great comfort to those terrorists who played a role in creating the 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York City that Mayor Michael Bloomberg has banned the participation of all religious groups in the 10-year anniversary memorial services held at ground zero.  He’s also barring political speeches.

A spokesman for the mayor said, “The mayor insists that the ceremonies should focus on the families of those killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center.”

News Flash for the mayor: My guess is every victim of the attack and their family members, along with the vast majority of those of us who watched the horror unfold prayed to our God in our own way on September 11th, 2001 and it’s my guess that prayer would bring as much comfort to these families today as it did then. But God Bloomberg forbid we should allow the anniversary to include an organized approach to a non-denominational group prayer at ground zero itself.

In the days after the attack, then-mayor Rudy Giuliani held an interfaith service at Yankee Stadium. There was no problem and no great organized protest. We went there en-masse to mourn together… and to begin the healing process  together.

And it worked. People from all walks of life, all religions poured into Yankee Stadium… and poured their hearts out in public. Together as one big family. It not only brought comfort to all those who attended, but to the millions who watched the live coverage on TV. But that was then and this is now, right Mayor Bloomberg? At the time, we just didn’t realize we might be offending the very people who attacked us. What were we thinking?

Ten years on, the original Yankee Stadium has been razed by what some call “progress.”    And, ten years on, apparently American pride, common sense, compassion and a sense of “We Are All One Family” has been replaced by political correctness and the sycophants of stupidity, led by one Michael Bloomberg, mayor of New York City.

To Mayor Bloomberg: You are supposed to be a leader. Yet in this case, you show none of the leadership characteristics Rudy Giuliani did in the days immediately following the attack. Worse, by yielding to the parasites of political correctness, you show little of the kind of “Stand your ground” patriotism so desperately needed in today’s world. Did you learn nothing from the lessons left by your European ancestors from World War II?

This writer was born and raised in the Boston area (as was Bloomberg). As such, it was always

  • Red Sox before Yankees
  • Patriots before Jets
  • Celtics before Knicks and
  • Bruins before Islanders

But we all came together and mourned as one on 9/11.  And, God willing (and to hell with Michael Bloomberg), I will join hands with my New York brothers and sisters in solidarity at ground zero on 9/11/11. And there will be prayers in many languages, representing every religious denomination. Because that’s what people do at a time like this. Unlike cowards who yeild to those who would bully them into submission.

Edmund Burke said it succinctly: “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” But in this writer’s mind, perhaps, the biggest evil to be committed this September 11th would be to prevent good men and women from doing something meaningful to all, at a place called “Ground Zero” in NYC.

Shame on you, Michael Bloomberg. You are truly a gutless coward, sending the terrorists behind 9/11 (and their followers) the best message they could ask for: “You Won. We won’t pray, because we don’t want to offend you.(But hey, feel free to tie up the streets of Manhattan several times a day so you can pray towards Mecca).” Yes, this is the same Mayor Bloomberg who, on May 28th last year, defended the building of the Muslim Mosque so close to ground zero, saying at the time that he felt the government “shouldn’t be in the business of picking” one religion over another. But by banning all religious groups at Ground Zero while defending the Mosque, that is precisely what he is doing.

How pathetic Mayor Bloomberg. How pathetic.

Perhaps that earthquake in Virginia earlier in the week was caused by the soldiers in the Arlington National Cemetary rolling over in their graves in disgust at what we have for “leaders” in America today. And who could blame them?

Guess Who’s Channeling Gen. Anthony McAuliffe

August 16, 2011

Allen West, who is one of our very favorite Tea Party Congressmen, had a General Anthony McAuliffe moment yesterday, when he gave a pithy one-word response to the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’  request that he stop associating with Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, Joe Kaufman, and Joyce Kaufman, and others whom the Hamas-linked group considers to be anti-Islamic extremists (which, entre nous, they are not).

Rep. West’s response evidently baffled Nezar Hamze of CAIR, who said:

“When I first saw that, I wasn’t sure if he was calling me nuts, or he was calling my concerns nuts.”

Rep. West’s response also confused those reporters assigned to write about the incident. Miami’s local CBS station reports:

West has not fully explained his position, but in other letters to CAIR Florida, he has said he is neither anti-Islamic nor anti-Muslim.

Then CBS4 News discovered that during World War II, General Anthony McAuliffe famously wrote a one-word letter to the Germans in response to a surrender ultimatum. The word used: “Nuts!” [emphasis mine]

Discovered? Isn’t that the kind of thing reporters should know about–or at least be willing to find out about before they file a story? Shouldn’t they be up on historical references? Did none of them watch Band of Brothers? Better yet, isn’t this be the kind of thing that should still be taught in schools?

In one fell swoop, Rep. West made the whiners at CAIR look like ill-educated rubes, and proved to the country once again that he is an intelligent and worthy leader.

Dare we say — West for Pres/2016?

Slouching Toward Sharia

July 27, 2011

No, not here in America. Not yet.

But lawyer and radical preacher Anjem Choudary is determined to bring Muslim extremism to young people in London, as reported in June at Creeping Sharia. And this month he’s going even further in his efforts to “radicalise the youth” and imprison Londoners in an iron cage of Islamic rule.

Mr. Choudary is attempting to set up sharia law zones in London in which smoking, drinking, music, and concerts are banned.

The Daily Mail reports:

‘You are entering a Sharia-controlled zone – Islamic rules enforced.

“The bright yellow messages daubed on bus stops and street lamps have already been seen across certain boroughs in London and order that in the ‘zone’ there should be ‘no gambling’, ‘no music or concerts’, ‘no porn or prostitution’, ‘no drugs or smoking’ and ‘no alcohol’.

“Hate preacher Anjem Choudary has claimed responsibility for the scheme, saying he plans to flood specific Muslim and non-Muslim communities around the UK and ‘put the seeds down for an Islamic Emirate in the long term’…

“The campaign comes just months after stickers proclaiming a ‘gay-free zone’ and appearing to reference the religious Islamic text of the Koran appeared in Tower Hamlets.

“Women in parts of East London including Tower Hamlets have been threatened with violence and even death by Islamic extremists if they did not wear headscarves.”

Gay-free zones? Women threatened with death for not wearing headscarves? The entire western world is slowly being diminished because of its wholehearted worship of the golden calf of multiculturalism.

How long will it be before this type of behavior reaches our shores?

Or is it already here?

Bin Laden Dead: Curb Your Enthusiasm

May 2, 2011

On the surface, the news is what we’ve all been waiting to hear for nearly 10 years: Osama bin Laden, the founder of the jihadist terror organization al-Qaeda and the monster behind numerous terrorist attacks, including the 9/11 attack on the US is dead.

All devout Americans celebrate his departure from this light and his descending directly into the bowels of hell.  Michelle Malkin has done her usual stellar job in listing some of bin Laden’s most dastardly deeds, in addition to 9/11. No person with a soul will miss the vicious bastard.

But before we declare today a national holiday, let’s take stock in some additional points that should be taken into consideration:

  • In a report from About.com, as of last week-end, 4683 American soldiers have died in the combined conflagrations in Iraq and Afghanistan since the launch of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) on October 7, 2001 and Operation Iraqi Freedom (beginning with the invasion of Iraq on March 19, 2003).  This does not take into consideration the number of deaths to coalition soldiers from other countries fighting in support of US Troops.
  • According to a March 29th report from the Congressional Research Service, Congress has approved a total of $1.283 trillion for military operations, base security, reconstruction, foreign aid, embassy costs, and veterans’ health care for the three operations initiated since the 9/11 attacks: Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) Afghanistan and other counter terror operations; Operation Noble Eagle (ONE), providing enhanced security at military bases; and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). This estimate assumes that the current CR level continues through the rest of the year and that agencies allocate reductions proportionately.

Looking at the above, bin Laden’s death comes with a mighty high price tag. But it shows the world, that the United States will not shrink away from a fight when we’ve been attacked. And whether it’s Afghanistan, Pakistan or Any-other-stan, you can’t hide indefinitely.

With the completion of the bin Laden mission, many will deem it time for American troops to leave the region. However, former President Bush added to the agenda as we moved forward. That goal was to establish a democracy in the middle-east region in hopes of creating some level of stability the region. Whether this was his Achilles heel, an idiot’s folly or a shrewd move will be debated for years. The bottom line is American troops are still there and will most likely still be in harm’s way in the middle east for years to come.

The Bottom Line:

When America was attacked at Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941, most of the Japanese celebrated their victorious moment. Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto was the only one who saw the bigger, more ominous picture as he (reportedly) said, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

Osama bin Laden has now learned the meaning of the term “Terrible Resolve.”  However, we would be fools if we didn’t acknowledge that Muslim extremists are also filled with a terrible resolve now that bin Laden is dead. It would not surprise me if the word goes out from whoever no leads al-Qaeda, to seek revenge on the United States for bin Laden’s death. And the options they could possibly have in their possession already  include dirty bombs, nuclear weapons and who knows what kind of chemical poisons. Perhaps worse, given the porous American border (thank you Congress, Presidents Bush and Obama), these weapons could already be in place in numerous locations around the United States… perhaps even in your town or city.

Now, more than ever,  we need a true leader in the White House, one with the kind of experience and ability to make the right decisions in a timely manner. If President Obama was ever looking for the chance to prove his leadership capabilities, that opportunity now lies at his feet.

I’m glad the monster (bin Laden) is dead. But we’re a long way from being safe, my friends.

Your Tax Dollars at Work. No, Really!

February 28, 2011

Dear Congress,

I don’t ask for much. I live quietly, I take care of myself, I donate to charities, I work hard and save my money. I don’t expect to see a dime of the funds I have paid into Social Security and Medicare when I retire, because I know that money is already all gone. It’s okay, I’ll probably get by without going on the dole, even thought my 401(k) is not nearly what it used to be…

But since you’re looking for ways to cut spending here and there, I hereby request three small cuts. Oh, I know they won’t make much difference to our bottom line, but really, these are things that our tax dollars should never have funded in the first place.

#1: Defund Planned Parenthood

#2: Defund public broadcasting

#3: Stop using our money to rebuild and shore up mosques both here and abroad. I mean, after all, isn’t separation of church and state one of those bedrock standards the liberals hoist up every time a kid says a brief “Thank you, Father” after a touchdown at the school football game? Or if someone wants to include that icky “under God” part of the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag? So why on earth are we spending close to a billion dollars on shoring up mosques in Egypt, Cyprus, Tadjikstan, Mali, and who knows where else?

So please… just stop doing that.

Oh, and by the way; remember November, 2010? November 2012 is rapidly approaching. I’m just saying.

Yours very sincerely,
Stoutcat

The Beck/Sharpton Rallies: A Telling Dichotomy

September 1, 2010

Glenn Beck has been putting himself in a position ripe for parody and ridicule lately.  Beck predicted a miracle would happen at the Restore Honor Rally. To those who  scoffed, I submit exhibit A:

Source: Video from Glennbeck.com

The military may have refused Glenn Beck a “flyover” to open his rally, but God didn’t disappoint. As the event prepared to begin, a skein of geese flew over in formation as if He was blessing the event from above.

Beck also predicted the rally would be “a defibrillator to the heart of America.”  I’m not sure about that, but after the geese thing, I’m not betting against it. In fact, I”m going to go so far as to say it’s official: America is emerging from its self-induced coma. The attendance at the rally alone established that.

Beck predicted the rally would be the next generation’s Woodstock. Let’s hope it was. Because just as Woodstock launched my generation’s justification for self (over-) indulgence to all things liberal, maybe this event can launch a generation that inspires the benefits of conservative values and an era of honor. By virtually all measures, the rally accomplished its goals. It was, indeed, a good week-end for those of us who still believe (as Ronald Reagan did) that America’s best days lie ahead.

For an excellent re-cap of the event, please check the guest posting by Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin’s blog

But there was also an unfortunate affirmation this weekend that racism still plays a major role in the lives of some who chose to belittle and besmirch the work of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

There were two rallies in Washington this past weekend. One headed by Glenn Beck and the other by Al Sharpton. Only one of the rallies stressed the kind of character, honor, accountability, and sense of unity necessary for America’s survival and recovery and was inclusive of all, regardless of race or religion.

It’s no surprise that it wasn’t Sharpton’s. Read the rest of this entry »
