Have YOU Actually Read the Bill?

To every talking head on network and cable television; to every newspaper and news magazine interviewer, columnist, reporter; to every blogger, left, right, and center; I have a request.

From now until the time the Pork Spend Stimulus bill is either passed or killed dead dead dead, please ask each politician you interview two questions:

  1. Have you read the entire bill?
  2. Do you know anyone who has read the entire bill?

Two simple yes-or-no questions. No grandstanding, no bluster, no straw men, just yes or no. So far, I haven’t been able to find any politician who has actually read this giant boondoggle that Congress and the President are trying to shove down our throat. Have you?

If the legislators who are trying to get this horror passed, and the President who is championing it, don’t know what’s in it, how dare they play the politics of fear with the American citizens in order to pass it?

Have you read the bill? Do you know anyone who has? Read it here. Then let Congress and the President know what you think of it.

I wish someone would ask Obama if he has read it-without a teleprompter in front of him.

According to Sen. Leahy’s office and based on this list are the governors who’ve been the strongest supporters of the stimulus bill, because it offered them some relief in a terrible budget year, will cry the loudest. Schools, environmental programs and broadband expansion projects also take a hit.

The list can be found here:

Doing research on the actual wording of the bills and then watching C-SPAN to see how our Congress twists and/or misrepresents that content to enhance their own side is stunning.
