Obama Knew

October 24, 2012

Reuters, AP, the Daily Caller, heck everyone is reporting this morning that both the State Department and the White House were informed within two hours of the attack on the Benghazi consulate that Ansar al-Sharia, a militant Islamic group in Libya, had claimed responsibility for the invasion of the compound and the assassination of four Americans there, including our Ambassador.

If I was angry before, I am beyond outraged right now.

The President of the United States watched in real time as our consulate was being attacked. He watched and did nothing. He could have sent jets, he could have called in the Marines… They may have arrived too late, but it would have been something.

He knew, but He. Did. Nothing.

And he had no response to the American people at that time. In fact, apparently watching our consulate burn was so exhausting, he went to bed — either just before or just after being informed that it was a terrorist attack by a known Islamic group. And this act of war weighed so heavily on his mind that, the very next day, President Obama flew from Washington DC to Las Vegas for a fundraiser.

In other words: He knew but He. Did. Nothing.

And then our president has the gall, the temerity, the audacity to send his minions arount to lie to the press, to lie to the American people, knowing what he knew within two hours of the attack.

I am so far beyond outraged right now that words are failing me. The only ones that keep coming out are very bad, non-family-friendly words that I won’t include in this blog.

President Nixon resigned from office. President Clinton was impeached. Neither of the scandals which imbroiled them had an actual body count. This man, this selfish, callous, cowardly man we chose as President, must not be re-elected. He has only contempt for the nation we entrusted to him.

If he were a man, he’d already have resigned. But he’s not a man, he’s a cowardly, skulking, self-centered, me-first-me-only America-hating, liberal socialist narcissist, so we’re going to have to vote him out.

Two weeks, folks. Two short weeks. Let’s roll.

Report from the Ground on Cape Cod

October 11, 2012

I’ve been noticing things lately around here. Things like a prepoderance of Scott Brown yard signs (running about three to one in favor of our favorite RINO). And more springing up every day; just last weekend a huge new sign went up in the empty lot right across from the grocery store. Huge. Highway billboard big. SCOTT BROWN. Hard to miss.

Also, in noticing the yard signs, I also noticed that with the Scott Brown signs there are also likely to be Romney/Ryan yard signs as well. In those yards that sport Warren signs, there are no Obama/Biden signs. None.

Most conservatives around here don’t usually tart up their cars with a myriad of political stickers, and for good reason. This is completely unlike the loony lefty types who seem to wear their emotions on their bumpers. But I have noticed a cautious number of Brown bumper stickers, again running two-to-one more than Warren stickers. But what’s really telling, in my estimation, is this:

Take a look and tell me what is missing from the proud bumper of this typical lefty auto. Go ahead, I’ll wait. (The photo was snapped recently in my daily park-and-ride lot in Barnstable.)

Right; not only is there no Liz Warren sticker, there’s no Obama/Biden 2012 sticker.

While I’m not saying that Massachusetts is turning red, I do think it’s telling that this time around, those who couldn’t wait to embrace the hope and the change in 2008 aren’t even bothering to voice their support in the most socially ubiquitious way this time around.

And that’s enough for me, here in Massachusetts.

The Flaming Sword; Used Against We The People

October 2, 2012

“Freedom of the press is a flaming sword.
Use it justly; hold it high; guard it well.”

Friends, the time you spend watching this video is perhaps the most important 26 minutes you’ll spend before the election. After you watch it, if you agree, please be sure to share it with as many people as possible.

This is only part of what we’re fighting against. And we must prevail.

I know. I don’t care. I’m going to post it anyway.

With apologies to the late, great Gary Larsen.

UPDATE: He’s not dead!

You Can’t Trust Jed Bartlett…

September 21, 2012

Or C.J., or Toby, or any of the old gang.

As a die-hard West Wing fan (the original years, not the later years–I’m a purist), you can imagine my joy when I read that the cast reunited briefly to make a four-minute video commercial for getting out the vote in Michigan for one Bridget McCormack. Bridgit just happens to be the sister of Mary McCormack, who was one of the only good thing that came out of the later years of the series.

The commercial is a wonderful stroll down memory lane as it attempts to explain the importance of making sure voters fill out their entire ballot, including the “non-partisan section at the end”; in this case, it’s promoting one Bridget Mary McCormack, non-partisan candidate for the Michigan State Supreme Court.

As you can see, much is made about the concept that this part of the ballot is “non-partisan” and therefore in theory should be beyond politics. Sadly, you can bet that nobody involved in making the commercial thought it would be a good idea to let the viewers know that there are actually six candidates on the ballot (three Democrats and three Reublicans), or that Ms. McCormack is in fact enthusiastically endorsed by the Democrat Party of Michigan:

And even if you didn’t know that, all you’d have to do is to to her campaign site and see this screen to realize that she truly is a Democrat’s Democrat:

Ms. McCormack: if you’re aiming for the State Supreme Court, “fairness” should not be your concern: rule of law should be.

On the other hand, when your judicial philosophy is ”Fairness Above All Else”, you’d be a shoo-in for the US Supreme Court when Justice Ginsberg retires… if only President Romney were a Democrat!

P.S. Lily Tomlin is no Mrs. Landingham. That is all.

Defending the Constitution, First Amendment Edition

September 18, 2012

By now you have probably seen the photo of the midnight raid in which the maker of the film which is allegedly causing the “ruckus” in the Middle East was “politely” “requested” to “go downtown and answer a few questions”. The photo itself begs to be captioned, and this being the 21st century, voila, instant Quick Meme, entitled, “Defend the Constitution.”

All the captions pointedly call out the blatant disregard of the officials of our First Amendment rights (as far as I know, we don’t have any anti-blashpemy laws on the books… yet). But of all the images listed at the link, I think I found this one the most disturbing:

As you recall, the very next day after the Ambassador was murdered, President Obama jetted off to Las Vegas for a fundraiser. And these days, our leaders are spinning like crazy by insisting, in the face of mounting evidence to the contrary, that the Cairo and Libya uprisings were simply spontaneous outpourings of indignation against a ridiculously crappy 15-minute video trailer, which had been online and available for protesting for at least a month prior.

As I mentioned in a tweet yesterday, when there is gun violence, the Left blames guns and tries to quash the Second Amendment. This is simply the logical next step… An American diplomat is murdered, the Left blames a video and tries to quash the First Amendment.

Unrest in the Middle East, murdered Americans, attempts to trample our basic rights. This isn’t over yet.
