Admit it. If the New York Times had published this photo on its front page, conservatives would be howling. And rightly so.
So where’s the outrage?
Some NRO editor definitely fell down on the job, and if I were Sarah Palin, I wouldn’t be to pleased with this front page embarrassment, which makes a cheap joke of the thoughtful article she wrote.
Let’s just hope it wasn’t a Freudian slip…

I have the right to remain silent, and I understand that anything I type can and will go into my permanent folder.

Personally, I think whoever made the call to put that piece together as they did is either a snickering liberal or a clueless idiot… or both.
In any event, If I’m the publisher of this venerable publication, I’m looking for a new editor first thing in the morning. This is the National Review, NOT The National Enquirer. Anyone responsible for that cover photo/title layout is GONE.

Irresponsible and totally unexpected from NRO!!!

Except for a few really good blogs, like this one for instance, journalistic integrity seems to be more of a contradiction in terms than a reality. Yes for even the NRO. But, maybe the problem is one of expectations. Given the growing trend during the last couple of decades, with most of the MSM reduced to little more than party line cheerleaders, should we keep expecting something better? What’s the old saw about the definition of insanity? In any case, perhaps we owe them all a vote of thanks, for their abdication of the traditional responsibilities of the 4th estate is surely a major factor in the growth of the new crop mentioned in my opening line.

Tom, an interesting point. We probably do owe a debt of gratitude to the MSM for their dereliction of duty, as that, coupled with the advances in techology, allows citizen journalists, online pundits, and opinionators to literally broadcast their own news. (And thanks for the compliment!)
