Let us begin with what just might be another coup for Charles Johnson and his commenters at Little Green Footballs, who prove once again that the Dan Rather School of Fake But Accurate Journalism keeps cranking out graduates. Charles and his minions bring the lethal combination of skepticism and observation to bear on what seems to be a staged hospital/funeral video from CNN. Commenters contribute ideas on why the video seems staged:
“I’m no military expert, but I am a doctor, and this video is bullsh-t. The chest compressions that were being performed at the beginning of this video were absolutely, positively fake. The large man in the white coat was NOT performing CPR on that child. He was just sort of tapping on the child’s sternum a little bit with his fingers. You can’t make blood flow like that. “
Here’s the two-minute video (which CNN has already pulled, but which is still available on Youtube). Judge for yourself.
Never underestimate the laxity of mainstream media outlets like CNN — or the power of sites like LGF, for that matter. Here’s the kicker:
And meanwhile, LGF reader “Killgore Trout” has discovered that the “freelance photographer,” Ashraf Mashharawi, also runs a business called Nepras For Media & IT, which hosts websites. And according to Internet Haganah, in 2004 they were listed as the operator of at least two websites for … Hamas.
Blogs: doing the research that mainstream media have neither the inclination, the interest, nor the integrity to do. Read the whole thing, of course. And as many of the comments as you have time for.
UPDATE: Ed at HotAir gets in on the act, too.

Continuing through the blogosphere, we can celebrate that Dr. Sanity is back blogging and is in fine form! She gives a nice historical overview of just why many of us really don’t have much sympathy toward the plight of the “Palestinians.”
“Sheesh. Four million people and they have done squat since 1948 to better themselves. They were given Gaza in 2005, but are they capable of doing anything except hate? No.”
With the help of NRO’s John Derbyshire, she builds a strong case. And we’re ever so glad to see her back!

Next, we have a real tear-jerker, via Wizbang.
“If she didn’t already wear a badge, you’d want to pin a star on Susan Porcello.
Musso, a diabetic with a host of other age-related maladies, had accidentally overdosed on his prescription medications. Porcello accompanied him to Lutheran Medical Center.
“I told him I’d be back to visit him and take him to a senior center where he could make some friends,” said Porcello, who comes from a big Italian family with a mom, dad, three sisters and a brother.
“I told him I was making him my ‘Grandpa,’ and if he liked, he could spend Thanksgiving with my family. Eddie and I discussed alternating holidays with Gaspar so he wouldn’t be alone for any of them.”
You will definitely want to read the entire article, which goes on to prove that New York’s finest are, indeed the finest.

And finally, for your entertainment, a wonderful photo of an historic meeting:

Have a wonderful weekend!
