Obama’s input be damned, Roland Burris will take ”his” Senate seat. And Reid will eat crow, and some sort of deal will be struck to smooth the many ruffled feathers, but at the end of the day, the message will be clear to the President Elect: Just because “The One” is destined to go to 1600, the Legislative branch isn’t about to roll over for even a liberal President.
As a side note, Blago probably sits on the sidelines and smiles. As Burris takes his seat, Gov. Rod culls credibility. No doubt (in this corner at least) that Blagojevich schemed that Burris was a lock — to challenge was to be a racist… Guaranteeed credibility.
