Barack Obama: Hypocrite and Disgrace

We all know that Sen. Obama has been a staunch supporter of bringing our troops home from Iraq, regardless of the progress of our mission there, or how that would leave the fragile Iraqi state. He has made this stance a key element of his campaign.

Well, would it surprise you to find that with all his fine-sounding rhetoric flying across the airwaves and headlines, at the same time he was urging Iraqi leaders actually to defer agreements for troop reductions until, well, basically until after Obama was sworn in as President. This stall was part of the premise of his meeting with Iraqi leaders during his We Are The World grand tour back in July. “He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington,” Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said in an interview.

In Obama’s mind, I’m sure this was a rosy picture of the future. To the rest of us, however, it smacks of hypocrisy at best, and at worst, duplicity, treachery, and/or betrayal. It is shameful that a man running for high office would attempt to undermine the efforts of the men and women who serve this country with such honor and courage. And for what? Political gain. It is indeed shameful. This is a man not fit to be President; and not even fit to be a Senator.

Watch for the articles about it in your newspapers and on the evening news. Keep watching. I’m betting you won’t see it covered. And that, too, is a disgrace.
